Dubai is known for its luxury, glitzy nightlife, mesmerising skyscrapers, and beautiful culture. The city has also seen many crimes being reported, but the Dubai Police has always come up with measures to curb them. The number of crime rates filed in 2022 as compared to 2021 has decreased by 63.2%, according to the General Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) of the Dubai Police.
Crime Rate In Dubai Drops
The Dubai Police’s commander-in-chief, Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, attributed the dramatic decline to creative security initiatives. This news came in as the Dubai Chief visited the CID (General Department of Criminal Investigation) for an annual inspection. The annual inspection took place in the presence of the Director of the General Department of Crime Investigation, Major General Jamal Salem Al Jallaf; Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation; Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri; and other senior officers.
Lt. Gen. Al Marri also listened to the achievements and initiatives of the Crime Prevention Department during the visit.

The Credit Was Given To The Innovative Security Initiatives
422 people sought for various offences were arrested by the Crime Prevention Department. The department also showcased its cutting-edge security initiatives that helped with crime prevention and post-crime processes. This highlighted the key findings of their crime prevention related studies.
The Lost and Found Department honoured 14 honourable people who turned over abandoned treasures to the police and gave items back to 745 beneficiaries. In order to raise awareness, the Tourist Police Department gave 55 lectures to 4,085 recipients who work in the travel and hotel industries.
