If you thought Dubai had peaked with its skyline, think again. MGM Resorts International just upped the standards. The luxury giant’s latest playground, the much-anticipated MGM Tower in Dubai, is climbing up and is all set to make waves when it opens in the third quarter of 2027.
MGM Tower In Dubai Rising Fast With 2027 Opening Date Set
This tower isn’t coming solo, it’s part of a 26-acre beachfront bonanza. Expect an MGM Hotel, MGM-branded Residences, and yes, even a Bellagio Hotel. That’s a triple shot of Vegas-style extravagance, now poured straight into the Middle East for the first time.

All of this is being done in partnership with Wasl Hospitality and Leisure, which joined forces with MGM Hospitality back in 2017. The mission? Build Dubai’s next big thing in the resort industry. Wasl’s backing and Dubai’s no-limits mindset mean this one won’t be your average hotel with a view.
The brands involved are Bellagio, Aria, and MGM Grand. All of them are big hitters in the global hospitality world. Bringing them to Dubai is more than just expansion.
Talk of Gaming, Gulf-Style
Let’s address the elephant in the room: gaming. Hornbuckle’s hint about gaming being “hopefully” added wasn’t just a throwaway comment. It echoes a larger, louder conversation happening in the UAE right now. The country’s gaming market is heating up, with estimates suggesting a future value between $3 billion and $5 billion. Not exactly pocket change.
Look no further than Wynn Al Marjan in Ras Al Khaimah for proof. That jaw-dropping integrated resort received an official gaming licence in October last year from the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). Construction there is moving fast, with opening day slated for early 2027.

The Final Word
With the MGM Tower racing toward completion and Dubai continuing to roll out the red carpet for global projects, we’re in for a game-changing decade. Whether or not gaming finds a home in the MGM Tower, one thing’s certain: Dubai’s skyline just got itself another head-turner. Keep your eyes on the horizon, because by 2027, things are going to look a whole lot glamorous.
