Yes, recently, Dubai was ranked high in the newest edition of the Global Financial Centre Index rankings. Published by Z/Yen in London, here’s all you need to know about the index and where Dubai stands amongst 119 financial centres across the world.
Dubai Ranks At 12th Spot Globally
According to the latest index published by Z/Yen in London, Dubai has been ranked fifth globally for FinTech. This is happening for the first time after a careful slew of initiatives driven by DIFC. Moreover, the overall rankings scored by Dubai has advanced it to the 12th rank globally. However, it has become number one regionally! Appearing in the top 15, Dubai has become the only financial city in the region that has made it to this ranking.
Dubai Ranks 5th In FinTech
At this point, it’s worth noting that Dubai has made it to the top for the following sectors – ranking fifth in FinTech, sixth in Professional Services, eighth in Investment Management, 14th in Banking/Finance, and 13th in Trading. For those who are wondering, the Dubai International Financial Centre is one of the most advanced financial centres. A leading hub for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, it comprises 77 countries, and there is an approximate population of 3.7 billion. For this report, 31,314 financial centre assessments were collected from 4,946 financial services professionals. They responded to the GFCI online questionnaire, and this is updated regularly. As a result, ratings change as assessments and instrument factors also change.
