Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is constantly working towards improving the existing infrastructure in Dubai. Often undertaking major roadworks, building new infrastructure and improving the existing ones, the authority is truly trying its best towards ensuring that people in Dubai can live properly. And now keeping up with this idea, they have just launched a new Rail Bus at the ongoing World Government Summit. Here’s all you need to know about this novel service by the Dubai RTA.
Dubai RTA Announces Rail Bus
Dubai RTA recently announced the launch of the new Rail Bus at the ongoing World Government Summit. The hallmark about this transport vehicle is that it can operate at a speed of 100 kilometres per hour. With the capacity of carrying 40 passengers per trip, it is shaped like a capsule and there is a new mode of public transport with 11.5 m in length and 2.65 m in width, the Rail Bus has been launched with the aim of being a more cost-effective mode of travel. Not to mention, it also aims to make traffic smoother in the city.
It Will Operate At A Speed Of 100 Km Per Hour
It’s worth mentioning that it was back in January 2024, when RTA signed an MoU with Rail Bus. With the aim of developing the rail bus system, the vehicle travels on a bridge, which is equipped with solar panels so that electricity can be generated for operating the system. This new mode of transport is fantastic and it certainly looks promising for people in Dubai.
It comes right at a time when there are even talks going on about the impending launch of flying taxis. It is believed that flying taxi will take to Dubai skies in 2026. With this development, Dubai would become the first city to launch the mode of transport. Not to mention, keeping up with this development, the first flying taxi station was also named DXV, which is located near Dubai International Airport. It is one of the four sites where the vertiports are being developed.
So, with the launch of the Rail Bus, we can soon expect travelling to get easier for people who commute on a daily basis in the emirate.
