The Dubai RTA has announced some major traffic enhancements. Yes, it has begun a series of traffic improvements that are situated across 40 key locations in the emirate. With the implementation scheduled between June and September, here’s all you need to know about this series of work that has been carried out in the emirate.
40 Locations To See Traffic Improvement
40 key locations in Dubai have been identified for traffic improvement. These works, as a result, will cover 22 major streets, nine school zones, and over five development areas. Not only this, several internal roads will also be included, such as those in Tolerance District, Al Khawaneej 2, and Nad Al Sheba. As revealed by the Dubai RTA in its report, the improvements are scheduled to be carried out during the summer holiday. This is being done to minimise disruption to traffic. Not to mention, it will also ensure that the highest safety standards are being followed at all the targeted sites.
9 School Zones Identified For Road Work
In fact, nine school zones have been identified where roadwork will be undertaken. This is being done to improve traffic efficiency and maintain road safety around such educational institutions. Some of these are as follows:
- Upgrades at Al Warqa 1 school complex
- Construction of an additional bus entrance – GEMS School, Al Warqa 3
- Widening of the access and exit points – The English College, Al Safa 1
- Installation of signal-controlled pedestrian crossing – Al Seedaf Street, Al Barsha 1
Traffic Solutions To Be Implemented From June To September

As such, the RTA is also implementing traffic solutions in response to the population growth and booming economy of Dubai. This is being done at five major development zones, which include the following:
- Construction of a direct access route from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Al Muhaisnah labour camps.
- Upgrades on the Al Mustaqbal Street. This will improve access to the newly developed residential communities.
- Improved connectivity for Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street. This will be through the Al Marabea’ Street.
- Enhancement to be made at Nad Al Hamar junction
- New parking facilities to be developed for Zayed Educational Complex, Oud Al Muteena 1

Internal Road Works Planned
As it happens, there are plans to complete internal roadwork in several areas, which include:
- Tolerance District
- Al Khawaneej 2
- Jebel Ali Industrial 1
- Nad Al Sheba
- Al Warqa
So with these extensive roadworks planned for the coming weeks, it is bound to make travelling easier for the people in Dubai once it is done.
