It was recently revealed by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority that it has streamlined many of its online services. As a result, life just became easier for the residents of Dubai. Streamlining driver licensing services, it has combined services by 53 per cent! In fact, it is a part of its ongoing efforts to deliver a seamless, secure, and integrated digital service experience.
Dubai RTA Streamlines Diver Licensing Services Online
Aligning with Dubai’s vision to offer public service that enhances the quality of life in Dubai, the Dubai RTA has now streamlined its driver licensing services. As revealed by Sultan Al Akraf, who is the Director of Driver Licensing at the RTA’s Licensing Agency, this initiative aims to re-engineer the customer journey.
And it aims to streamline the process of obtaining a license through smart channels. With the focus being on harnessing advanced technology and data recognition, it is bound to enhance driver licensing services. For those who aren’t aware, this step of digitising the services forms a part of the Service 360 plan. It is on the Dubai RTA’s app and reflects a new integrated vision delivering seamless, proactive and comprehensive services.
What Are The Services Available Online?
Coming back to the enhanced services, a range of these services has been developed and streamlined. These include the following services:
- Applying for or even managing a driver’s license
- Transferring trainee files between driving institutes
- Adding new vehicle categories
- Updating personal information
- Requesting a replacement in case of loss or damage
- Renewing a license

With the proactive notifications now activated, these integrated services are fully accessible online. These are accessible through the official website of the RTA and can be done through simplified steps. As a result, it eliminates the need to visit service centres! In fact, a list of other driver-focused services is also available online. As it re-engineers the customer journey, these simplified procedures will reduce the number of steps and required visits.
So, with the development of smart solutions, realigning of procedures and continuous improvement of operational efficiency and sustainability, it reflects RTA’s commitment towards enhancing the quality of services.
