Dubai RTA To Upgrade Road Infrastructure That Will Benefit 4,00,000 People In 4 Neighbourhoods

The Dubai Roads & Transport Authority is working around the clock to ensure that commuters in the emirate can enjoy seamless connectivity to different neighbourhoods. Not to mention, with constant updates to the already existing infrastructure, they also ensure that residents and tourists can enjoy quick travel as well. And aligning with the leadership’s directives, recently the Dubai RTA launched a project for improving access points for four neighbourhoods. Here’s everything you might want to know about this Dubai RTA project.

Dubai RTA New Project To Make Life Easier For 4 Neighbourhoods

Under this project, there will be an upgrade of entry and exit points, which will be located along the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Hessa Street. Not to mention, with this update, there will be smoother access to and from Al Barsha South, Al Awir 1, Nadd Hessa, and Wadi Al Safa 3.

And once the project is completed, the access points will increase the capacity by 50 to 80 per cent! Making life easier for 400,000 residents, this project includes comprehensive roadwork and traffic solutions to improve mobility for residents and visitors. They will be connected to the aforementioned roads with the new entry and exit points.

Here’s How The Neighbourhoods Will See Improvement In Traffic

Take a look at how connectivity is going to improve for each of the neighbourhoods.

Nadd Hessa

With an additional entry and exit for the neighbourhood, this will be from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. The two lanes will be able to accommodate 6,000 vehicles per hour. Additionally, this will serve not just Nadd Hessa but also Hessa Gardens, Warsan 4, Nadd Hessa, and Dubai Silicon Oasis. With a signalised junction at Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, this will reduce the travel time by 80%.

Al Awir 1

It involves the construction of a 7.5 km road. This road will will connect Al Awir 1 and Emirates Road. Making life easier for 50,000 residents, the new entry and exit points will also have double capacity with 3,000 vehicles per hour.

Al Barsha South

As major developments are going on in this area, these are a part of the ongoing Hessa Street Development Project. While there are several modifications being made, such as the addition of a third left-turn lane for improving access from Hessa Street into Al Barsha South, a new addition is also being made. For instance, Hessa Street is being widened by two lanes, which will be spread over an 1,1114 m stretch at the intersection. With this expansion, the total number of lanes will increase to four in both directions, which will offer enhanced access to Al Barsha South.

Wadi Al Safa 3

Offering direct access from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road the project will benefit vehicles coming from Dubai – Al Ain Road. This work includes the building of 4 km of internal roads and new entry points. As a result, it will reduce the travel distance by 10 km thereby slashing travel time to just two minutes from the existing 10 minutes.

Al Warqa

With the aim of executing entry and exit for this area, direct access will be given to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Not to mention, there will be an internal road network expansion by 8 km. This will be handling the rise in traffic volumes! Once this is done, the capacity for the road will increase by 5000 vehicles per hour. This will reduce the travel time to just 3.5 minutes as compared to the existing 20 minutes! Not to mention, it will also shorten the travel distance to just 1.5 km.

Benefiting several thousand residents, the project is truly going to make life easier for the people in the aforementioned areas.
