His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai, is widely famous for being a sports enthusiast. This is quite evident from the fact that he is always seen updating his social media handles and taking part in some kind of fitness activity or outdoor sports. And recently, he announced that Dubai will be hosting the World Sports Summit this December. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he announced how this would be the largest gathering of sports stars in the world.
Sheikh Hamdan Announces World Sports Summit
As revealed on X by Sheikh Hamdan, Dubai will be hosting the World Sports Summit from December 29th to 30th, this year. As it happens, he is a sports enthusiast himself, and he mentioned that this would be the largest gathering in the world of global sports. So this would, in turn, make Dubai a forefront in shaping the future of global sports.
World Sports Summit To Happen In December

The event will be hosted by Dubai Sports Council, which aims to bring together industry experts, key decision makers, and sports stars from around the world. So, basically, you can expect everyone from athletes and coaches to policymakers and even investors! In fact, attendees will get to explore how sports are not just good for maintaining fitness but can also drive unity, talent development, and inspiration on a global scale.

Expect Key Industry Experts, Sports Stars & More
Coming to the discussion, key topics for the summit will include economic viability of sporting events and assessing the latest technology that impacts the industry’s future, to name some. However, not just discussions, you can also expect keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops from its comprehensive list of programmes, as revealed by Khaleej Times.
As it happens, the crown prince is also a strong advocate when it comes to physical activity and well-being for the people in Dubai. Often seen undertaking high-energy sports, such as trekking, free diving, and spearfishing, his commitment to fitness is truly remarkable! And it’s enough to motivate people to start taking their health seriously as well.
Dubai is well suited for hosting this summit, as every year it launches a month-long campaign called Dubai Fitness Challenge that encourages residents to commit 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 consecutive days. And Sheikh Hamdan not only promotes this event, but actively participates in the same.
