The list for the world’s busiest airports are here, and China is dominating the list. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has topped the list of welcoming the most passengers in 2020, according to preliminary data revealed by Airports Council International (ACI). Dubai Internatinational Airport (DXB) and London’s Heathrow Airport haven’t made it to the top 10 list. However, DXB is ranked first for international passenger numbers and here’s everything you must know.

Dubai Ranks First For International Passenger Numbers Amid Pandemic
Dubai International Airport, which was the fourth busiest airport in the world in 2019, has dropped out of the top 10 rankings for total passenger number this year. However, the airport is first for international passenger numbers. It ranked first despite observing a 70.1 per cent dip in traffic, as more than 25 million global travellers passed through in 2020, compared to over 86 million in 2019. And joining Dubai to the list are Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Doha, Incheon, Singapore and Madrid.

China Dominates The List Of World’s Busiest Airport In 2020
Whereas, in terms of the busiest airports in the world, China’s Guangzhou airport tops the list. It is followed by Atlanta, Georgia, US. Besides that, the list is dominated by China with seven airports, and the remaining three are from the US.

In terms of Cargo air traffic, Memphis in the US topped, followed by Hong Kong, Shanghai, Anchorage, Louisville, Incheon, Chinese Taipei, Los Angeles, Doha and Miami. In the international freight category, Dubai ranked within the top 10, coming in at number eight.
