Emirates Airlines, Dubai, declared a suspension on passenger flights from 8 destinations. The declaration came into effect on 28th December 2021 and would be continued until further notice. The in-bound operations are heavily affected by this decision. Passengers flying from Angola and Guinea on direct and transit flights will be denied entry to Dubai. But outbound flights from Dubai are not affected by this directive to the mentioned destinations.
Which Are The 8 Destinations?
The eight destinations comprise mostly African countries and flights from Conakry to Dakar. They are namely,
- Luanda (Republic of Angola)
- Nairobi (Republic of Kenya)
- Conakry (Republic of Guinea)
- Dar es Salaam (United Republic of Tanzania)
- Abidjan (Republic of Cote d’Ivoire)
- Addis Ababa (Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia)
- Accra (Republic of Ghana)
- Entebbe (Republic of Uganda)

Emirates Has Urged Customers To Hold On To Their Tickets
Emirates said, “Affected customers do not need to call us immediately for rebooking. Customers can simply hold on to their Emirates ticket and when flights resume, get in touch with their travel agent or booking office to make new travel plans.” They added, “Emirates regrets any inconvenience caused. In order to receive the latest updates on their flights, customers are also advised to ensure that their contact details are updated by visiting Manage Your Booking.”

All inbound flights for national and international airlines, as well as transit passengers, from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Nigeria have previously been halted in the UAE. This decision has come into effect to control the increasing spread of COVID19 in the UAE.
UAE Nationals & Passengers Travelling For Emergency Care Will Be Exempted
Exceptions include emergency care, official missions, and scholarships for UAE nationals. Within 48 hours after departure, a negative Covid-19 test must be provided, as well as a Rapid-PCR test within six hours. The two countries also imposed new travel restrictions for individuals travelling directly from Uganda and Ghana. Apart from them, all nationals are forbidden from travelling to four of the eight African countries.
