UAE and their visa system are updating with every new hour. The most recent initiative regarding visas was by Dubai. An initial three-day campaign to resolve expired visa issues began in Dubai on Saturday. It was Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) that announced the project. But to our dismay, the three-day event was cut down to one day. Want to know why? Keep reading…

Huge Crowd Flocking To The Centre Made The Authorities Conclude The Event

The planned event of 3 days was brought to an end within 24-hrs due to the hefty amount of visitors flocking to the pop-up.

By 1:00 PM on the first day, the site was full. The “A Homeland For All” campaign was held in Deira City Centre, however, it had to be shut down after three hours because of unforeseen crowds. It wasn’t a visa amnesty, which has in the past drawn thousands of foreigners with expired residency permits, according to officials.

Yet the event, which had started at 10 a.m. on the first day, had filled up and concluded. A rumour claimed that an unauthorised video went viral informing people about savings on visa grants.

Announcement Of Relocated Venue For The Visa Campaign

The event aimed to teach locals about visa limits, offer legal counsel, and provide information on how to continue living and working in the UAE. Officials tweeted on Saturday afternoon that the campaign’s first phase had been successful and that they would soon reveal a new location. An official from the GDRFA explained that the campaign’s goal was to raise awareness of the dangers of visa violations in an effort to lower the percentage of offenders. The department announced that it will soon reveal the new location for the campaign’s second phase through a tweet.

Keep an eye out for further announcements and reach the venue on time to miss the long queues.
