With the initiative designed to preserve the legacy of the traditional Emirati neighbourhood, Sheikh Hamdan mentions how it will also help to see values and social cohesion. And the first space that has opened under this initiative features a contemporary open design. It is aimed to encourage movement, interaction, and community engagement for people across all age groups. With the help of native plants like sidr and tamarisk trees, the space looks quite welcoming.

Several Dedicated Areas
Not only this, but there are several dedicated areas, such as Al Decha – which is a quiet space for gathering near the mosque, Al Saaha – which is a flexible area for meetings and community events, and Al Yalsa – which is a seating area that overlooks the children’s play zone. There is also a walking path that runs through the site, allowing the residents to connect with nature.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that Hewi is basically a space that strengthens daily interaction amongst families and neighbours across all ages. With the inauguration of the Hewi Nad Al Sheba, it’s bound to improve the quality of Dubai people’s lives, which is also the top priority for the authorities, as mentioned by Sheikh Hamdan in his post on X.
