Emirates, which is the Dubai-based airline, recently announced that it will be sharing thousands of Iftar boxes. This will be available for fasting customers both onboard and at the boarding gates. Offering complimentary prayer mats, Emirates also offers an array of religious content, here’s how the airline will be celebrating Ramadan.

Emirates To Celebrate Ramadan With Iftar Boxes

Complimentary Iftar boxes will be offered to fast customers so that they can break their fast with grace. These would contain water, Laban, a banana, and dates. With the fasting boxes being delivered at select Emirates boarding Gates, this will be done during the Iftar time. As such, the balanced Ramadan box will be offered to customers to allow them to break their fast in all cabin classes for select destinations. These meals will be served in bespoke boxes that have been designed by the Emirates.

What Do The Iftar Meal Boxes Include?

Featuring geometric design, these boxes would include traditional dates. Light bites, such as those of hummus, moutabel or muhammara with Arabic Bread, a hearty Chicken Mossakan Sandwich or Herbed Chicken Sandwich, sweet treats, like chocolate Almonds, Baklawa Pistachio Mamoul Or Baklawa Pine Seed Cashew, and Laban. In fact, the Ramadan boxes will be served in addition to regular hot meal service.

Ensuring the highest level of accuracy for fasting Muslims, the airline uses a unique tool to ensure the correct time is calculated for imsak and Iftar when in flight. This is on the basis of the time of sunrise and sunset of the location. With the flight passing by using the aircraft’s longitude, latitude, and altitude, the passengers will be informed of the Iftar time by the captain.

The Iftar Boxes Will Also Be Available At DXB Lounges

However, not just on the aeroplanes, but refreshments will also be offered in the lounge. Seven Emirates lounges in the Dubai International Airport will offer a range of Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee during Ramadan. The traditional dishes will be available in First Class and Business Class. This would include a selection of Arabic Mezze, Arabic Mixed Grill with Tahina, Lentil Soup, Lamb Kabsa, Chicken Machboos with Cucumber Yoghurt Sauce, Lamb Shanks Ouzi with Hashweh Rice and Dakous.

It would be followed by desserts of Pistachio Kunafa, Cheese Kunafa, Kathayef Cream, Basbousa Saffron, Kitta Cheesecake, Walnut Kathayef, homemade Arabic coffee and dates ice cream or baklawa ice cream, a host of traditional Arabic pastries, and classic drinks of jallab and laban. Not only this, in the lounges of the airline of Cairo and Jeddah also offer an array of Ramadan dishes, but the lounges also have a dedicated prayer room and ablution facility.

More About The Bukhoor Scents

Staying true to the spirit of Ramadan, Emirates has also launched a new range of Bukhoor scents that are perfect for the season. Their home fragrance includes Oud Rose, which has the notes of raspberry, oud, patchouli, rose, geranium, and vanilla. This comes along with Dreamy Nights, which features jasmine, sweet green citrus, sweet balsam, amber, cedar and spicy vanilla. Supporting Umrah groups who are travelling to Jeddah and Madinah during Ramadan, the boxes will be served in flight. Customers can also check in one bottle of ‘ZAMZAM’, which is the Islamic Holy water. 5 L per person is allowed at Dubai International Airport and several airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
