There’s no secret that there are adverse weather conditions across the UAE. And it is important that one follows all the safety precautions to remain safe. One must follow the weather updates from official channels to be updated about the same. To ensure that people are safe during these unstable weather conditions, Abu Dhabi Media Office just released a video, which showcases and practical ways in which people can keep themselves safe.

Things To Keep In Mind For Safety

10 things that one must not do have been listen, as it can not just put them but people around them at risk as well.

1. Flammable materials must be kept away from wiring
   People must ensure that flammable materials are also kept away from electrical rooms. After all, flammable materials do not mix with electricity.
2. Regular scheduling of maintenance of electrical and water systems
   There must be scheduled and regular maintenance of electrical and water systems. This must be done by a qualified technician.
3. Don’t forget to check cables
   One must ensure that they do not forget to check the cables and ensure that they are insulated. Not to mention, they must also ensure that they are not exposed.
4. Do not open manhole covers
   It is important that one must not open sewage manhole covers, as it can be fatal.
5. Stay away from buildings under construction
   One must stay away from buildings that are under construction, as they might have loose items that could fall during heavy winds and rainfall.
6. Secure loose items outside
   One must secure loose items, such as outdoor seating, rooftop items, and fence items, on farms. This must be done so that they don’t get carried away during heavy events.
7. Avoid driving during rain

   Make sure to stay clear of water, puddles and valleys. After all, it’s dangerous to drive cars in these conditions.
9. Close doors and windows
   Make sure to steer clear of windows and keep them, along with the doors closed. This is to prevent wind damage and water leaks.
10. Avoid the sea and beaches
    During these unstable weather conditions, one must ensure that they avoid the sea and beaches.

This comes after the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority also issued public guidance. It is on the use of the national warning system. Public have been asked to follow safety instructions during adverse weather. They’ve been reminded that these weather conditions can result in lightning, thunder and other loud disturbances. So, it is pertinent that members of the public follow all the safety guide as soon as they receive an alert. In fact, it is also mentioned how communities have been asked to respond to weather-related disturbances accordingly. They have asked not to attribute such disturbances to incoming threats.
