1. Permanent Venue Announced For Sharjah International Book Fair

The Emirate of Sharjah has announced a permanent location for the Sharjah International Book Fair. This comes alongside a new conference and exhibition centre. Announced by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, who is the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, it will be near the Emirates-Al Dhaid-Khorfakkan road network.

2. Newborn Registration Window Extended To 120 Days In Kuwait

Kuwait has extended the newborn registration days up to 120 days for Civil IDs. Yes, this is a move that aims to support families, and the deadline for registering the newborns in the national civil information system has been extended. This generous 120-day window is for completing the baby’s registration, which marks a significant shift that has been designed in such a way that it eases the administrative burden on the parents, as reported by the Times of India.

3. Dubai Airport And Salik Sign 10-Year Deal

Dubai Airport and Salik have signed a 10-year deal to introduce a ticketless parking payment system. Basically, this will be implemented across all terminals later this month. So, from January 22nd onwards, the technology will be deployed across 7,400 parking spaces, which are at Terminals 1, 2, 3, and the Cargo Mega Terminal. It will allow motorists to pay for parking via the Salik e-wallet.

4. Muscat Expressway Expansion To Be Awarded By Quarter One

The Muscat Expressway expansion is one of the most important projects. It will be undertaken by the Ministry of Transport of Communication and Information Technology. As it happens, it is expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2026, as mentioned in the report of the Oman Observer. The project is expected to take 36 weeks to complete, and it is speculated to have been redesigned and to focus on specific areas.

5. Large Crowds Attracted At Hira Winter Events

Hira Winter Events at Hira Cultural District in Makkah has drawn a large number of crowds. Yes, the event is happening until January 15th and will offer activities that would be perfect for people of all ages.
