Did you know that you might just be able to check in for your flight from any location across the city and then be transported directly to the departure terminal through a secure vehicle? Sounds like something straight out of a movie, doesn’t it? Well, this might actually become possible in Dubai as it has revealed a new project, called the City Terminal Project. Here’s all you need to know about the project, which has been launched under the Dubai 10X initiative.
What Is the City Terminal Project?
One of the three projects approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, this comes under the Dubai 10X initiative. Under this project, passengers could check in for the flights at several locations across the city. Then could be transported straight to the departure terminal through a secure vehicle.
A Part Of Dubai 10X Initiative
It should be noted that this has been developed as a part of the initiative’s third phase, which aims to reshape key sectors. The newly approved initiative includes the 20-minute city, which is led by the Dubai RTA, the Disease Early Detection System, which is led by the Dubai Health Authority, and the City Terminal Project, which is led by the Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects.

More About The Initiative
Driving an exponential leap in the government operations of Dubai, the Dubai 10X initiative, it embodies the culture of innovation and collaboration among the leaders and employees. It should be noted that these three projects were selected from a pool of 79 ideas that had been developed by more than 120 employees.
These represented 33 government entities in the emirate. Through this project, there would be improved travel efficiency and passenger experience. Moreover, the project would enable travellers to complete check-in procedures at locations, which would be across Dubai. After this, they would be transported directly to the airport departure hall through a secure vehicle. This would not only reduce airport congestion but also streamline travel operations.
