Dubai’s ever-evolving skyline just got a new landmark twist as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has handed over the naming rights of Mashreq Metro Station to the Insurance Market.  Yes, you heard that right! Say goodbye to Mashreq Metro and hello to Insurance Market Metro Station! This change is set to stick around for the next 10 years, so prepare for a full rebranding makeover.

Bye Mashreq Metro Station, Hello InsuranceMarket

Located strategically on the Red Line, nestled between the Mall of The Emirates and Dubai Internet City, the station will continue to serve thousands of passengers every day, just with a new name, and a fresh vibe to match!

With RTA’s commitment to building successful partnerships, this deal with InsuranceMarket.ae is expected to create job opportunities, enhance public transport facilities, and help support the government’s long-term vision. Dubai banking firm Mashreq took over the station’s naming rights in 2020, succeeding online retailer Sharaf DG. Now, InsuranceMarket.ae is stepping into the spotlight. The new name will also feature in RTA’s smart systems, apps, and all transport maps and signs. Interestingly, of the 47 stations across the Red and Green Lines of the Dubai Metro, 23 are still available for naming rights. The RTA carefully considers applicants who show respect for local values, with a focus on companies promoting social responsibility and engaging in public activations.

What’s Changing For Commuters?

Starting from September 2024, expect a full revamp of the station’s signage, both indoor and outdoor. If you were relying on those trusty onboard audio announcements, they too are getting an upgrade to reflect the new name, ensuring that no rider gets confused on their daily journey. And for those scratching their heads about this sudden change, the friendly RTA staff are on hand to guide you through any questions you might have.

This isn’t just a name change for the sake of branding, it’s about reinforcing the partnership between public transport and the business community. By teaming up with InsuranceMarket.ae, RTA is building bridges (or rather metro tracks) between essential services and the people who use them every day. Whether you’re a Dubai resident or a visitor, this metro station name change will keep things fresh and exciting while you commute across the city!
