What Does This Mean For The Emirate?
With the increase in population, several key sectors will get a boost. Yes, this boost in the demand will be for consumer goods, housing & utilities and other such sectors in 2025. Although there are many benefits of an increase in population, it’s not wrong to say that it does put a strain on infrastructure with traffic jams becoming common in larger cities globally. At this point, it’s also worth mentioning that Dubai is extremely proactive when it comes to improving infrastructure needs so that there is horizontal expansion of the emirate as well.
In fact, it is predicted that by 2040, Dubai will have a bigger population than Sydney as the total number is expected to reach 7.8 million. Yes, and Dubai also has major expansion plans in the pipeline to support population growth, such as the upgrade of the Al Maktoum International Airport. Not to mention the Dubai RTA also plans to double the number of Dubai Metro stations by 2040 to meet the demand of the growing population.
So it’s not wrong to say that Dubai truly ends up being an attractive city for the growing population.
