DXB is one of the most popular airports in the world. And now, this airport has done it once again. If you haven’t already gathered, we are talking about the fact that Dubai International Airport has once again been declared the busiest airport in the world. Yes, given this recognition for 2024, here is more on this.

DXB Declared The Busiest Airport In The World For 2024

Dubai International Airport has retained its position as the world’s busiest international airport for 2024. With 60.2 million seats sold just in the last year, the airport has retained the top spot for the second year as well. It’s worth noting that DXB was also crowned the busiest airport back in 2019 and then it happened once again in 2023.

Going by the global travel data company OAG, this airport has seen an increase in travellers by 7% since 2023. London Heathrow Airport has come up on the second spot with 48.4 million seats while Seoul Incheon Airport has taken the third spot. It moved up by three spaces in 2023 with 41.6 million seats.

For figures that included both international and domestic flights, Dubai International Airport has ranked second. It has ranked behind Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson with a capacity of 62.7 million seats, which retained the top spot. The retaining of the first position in being the busiest airport in the world is hardly surprising as there is a continuous rise in travellers and the population of Dubai. Yes, just in a recent report, it was highlighted how there’s been the highest increase in the population in six years after 2018. So the fact that this airport has managed to achieve the top spot in this ranking is hardly surprising.

Dubai International Airport is constantly trying to improve it services so that it can keep up with the rising number of travellers that transit from the airport every year. Just in the last quarter, this airport had some of the busiest days on which the number of travellers that made a transit through the airport was quite high.
