Eid al-Adha 2024: Dubai RTA Unveils Free Parking, Metro & Other Public Transport Schedule For Holidays

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has a delightful treat for residents and visitors this Eid Al Adha. Free parking will be available across most public spaces in Dubai during the holidays. From Saturday, June 15 to Tuesday, June 18, all paid zones, except for multi-level terminals, will be free of charge. The parking meters will resume their money-gobbling duties on Wednesday, June 19. So, enjoy the reprieve!

RTA Services and Free Parking In Dubai

The RTA confirmed that its customer happiness centres and service provider centres will close from June 15-18. Technical testing services will resume on June 18, ensuring everything’s back in action by mid-week.

Public Transport Timings

Public transport schedules will adjust to accommodate the festive spirit. Here’s a quick rundown of the changes:

Dubai Metro: The Red and Green lines will operate from 5 am to 1 am the next day on June 14 and 15. On Sunday, June 16, they’ll start a bit later, from 8 am, but run till 1 am. From June 17-21, the metro will stick to a 5 am to 1 am schedule.

Dubai Tram: The tram will roll from 6 am to 1 am (next day) from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday, it starts at 9 am, offering plenty of time for a leisurely morning.

Dubai Bus: For precise bus timetable changes during Eid, the RTA suggests downloading the S’hail app. This handy app will keep you updated with the latest bus schedules, ensuring you don’t miss your ride.

Marine Transport & Other Services

Water Taxi: The Water Taxi service from Marina Mall to Blue Waters will operate from 4:00 pm to 11:50 pm. Pre-booking is required between 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm. So, plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

Abra Services: Various Abra routes will run throughout the day and into the late evening, offering a scenic and traditional way to traverse Dubai’s waters.

Dubai Ferry: The ferry schedules include multiple trips from Al Ghubaiba, Dubai Water Canal, and Bluewaters, ensuring ample options for water-based commutes and excursions.

Customer Happiness Centres: While the traditional centres will close during the Eid holidays, the Smart Customer Happiness Centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, Barsha, Al Kifaf, and RTA Head Office will remain operational 24/7. So, if you need assistance, you know where to go.
