By now, almost everyone knows about the series’ renewal and the extension of the story in Rome. After working as a marketing executive for a few years in the dreamy city of Paris, Emily, the lead character, decides to shift to a new city in a new country. Grabbing a new opportunity and yearning to stay close to her date, Marcello, Emily shifts from Paris to Rome.

While we have to wait for a long time to see what happens in her love life, we are wondering about her visa. Didn’t she move to Paris from Chicago on a work visa? What kind of work visa does she have that allows her to stay in Europe for so long? Doesn’t her visa expire? The list of questions and confusions can go on and on.

As per the latest updates, USA citizens will necessarily be required to apply for travel authorisation through the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) from the middle months of 2025. According to a report by Trainline, they will need to apply for travel authorisation before travelling to Europe. This process will benefit them to travel to 30 countries in the continent.

According to a report by AXA Schengen Travel Insurance, American citizens interested in working in Europe need to apply for a work visa. There are immigration policies to follow to be eligible to work legally.
