Etihad Reschedules Flights From UAE To UK As Etihad Caps Passengers

cheapest flights to international destinations

A few days ago, the reports suggested that Emirates was totally against the ideology of Heathrow to cap the travellers. But with the latest update, the news indicates that after a heated debate, Emirates has finally agreed to agree with the terms of Heathrow Airports’ new cap limit of passengers. Along with Emirates now Etihad also is rescheduling flights as Heathrow caps passengers.

Emirates & Etihad Will Cap The Passenger Limit For Heathrow Airport

The Dubai-based airlines rejected Heathrow’s order to reduce ticket sales until August. But after a meeting between the airline and airport, a joint statement was officially released showing agreement. Airports have difficulty keeping up with the surge in post-pandemic travel demand, resulting in delays and cancellations.  Etihad as well announced the rescheduling of their flights due to these capacity issues but stated its a temporary move. The airlines will start the new timetable on Wednesday and the travellers would receive a notification regarding their updated schedules from the airlines.

This decision by Emirates would be an extensive aid for Heathrow airport to ramp up its resources on board by the announced time.

Currently, the cost of a trip from London Heathrow to Dubai ranges from Dh2,500 to Dh8,000.  Heathrow, which instituted capacity limitations in June, does not provide travellers with any relief either. An Emirates trip from the UK’s second-largest airport to Dubai is allegedly going for a staggering Dh18,274.

The cost of a ticket from Dubai to London has remained consistent. The average price is less than Dh2,000 despite the ongoing demand.

After Heathrow limited passenger numbers to 100,000 per day over the summer. The airline said the airport had a “blatant disdain” for its patrons. It describes the scenario at the airport amounted to “an ‘airmageddon’ condition as a result of their negligence and non-action.

Cancellation Required If Tickets Booked In Advance?

Etihad, on Friday, mentioned that it would continue to run all five of its daily return flights between Abu Dhabi and Heathrow at max potential until the end of the month.
Also, for the ones who had booked their tickets before this development came into the picture, you would receive a call from the airlines. If not, then there’s no need to cancel or reschedule your bookings. But for those planning on booking one, it wouldn’t be the best time to do so. The flight bookings will be back in full force by the end of the August or September first week s mentioned by the airport.
