1. Etihad Airways Begins Global Recruitment Campaign

Etihad recently announced that it has begun a global recruitment campaign, which seeks individuals to join its cabin crew team. This will be a part of its ambitious growth plans and for this purpose, the airline will recruit 1,000 cabin members by the year end. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, it’s worth noting that this airline has already recruited 1000 cabin crew members, this year.

2. Saudi Arabia’s Public Security Has Started To Impose Fines

Saudi Arabia’s Public Security has already begun imposing fines on people who are violating Hajj regulations and instructions. This includes those who are undertaking a pilgrimage without a permit. In case you’re wondering, areas that are covered by the new permit and no Hajj policy include the holy sites, Haramain train station, security checkpoint, city of Makkah, the central area, screening centres, and temporary security points. It’s worth noting that this rule will be ineffective until June 20

3. Kuwait’s Emir Appoints Crown Prince

Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshal has named Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah as the Crown Prince. Yes, reported by The National, it was mentioned that it is a historic choice as a Crown Prince has been named from the Al Hamad branch of the Mubarak line of the ruling Al Sabah family for the first time. All the past rulers have either been from the Al Salem or Al Jaber branches.

4. IATA Annual General Meeting & World Air Transport Summit Begins

The 80th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit begins today and will go on till June 4. This event is being held in the UAE for the first time and it is being hosted by the Emirates. Leaders of the global airline industries will be gathering in Dubai with over 1,500 participants expected to be in attendance. Yes, this will include everybody from industry leaders and government officials to media persons.

5. First Direct Flight From Dammam To Iraq

The first direct flight from Dammam to Iraq arrived on Saturday. Yes, the flynas flight from King Fahad International Airport to Najaf Airport marks a step towards diversifying destinations within Iraq. Not to mention, it also supports travel between the two countries. After this, it’s expected that additional flights from Najaf to Jeddah and Madinah will be added for quicker access to Saudi Arabia for Iraqis.
