How To Reach

If you are planning to take a flight, land at Raipur airport, and from there, you can take a cab for Chitrakote falls. The distance is 285KM, and it will take you around 5 hours to reach your destination. Alternatively, if you are on a budget, you can take a train to Jagdalpur Station, and from there, you can hail a shared cab for the waterfalls. The third route is the longest one, which is a road trip from Delhi and Jagdalpur. It’s a 20-hour journey through Gwalior, Jhansi, and the Balaghat Hill, and if you are up for some adventure, you can consider it.

Best Time To Visit

If you want to experience these majestic waterfalls in their best state, then you must consider visiting between July to October when the Indravati River releases its full force. And if you want to click some pictures and take some epic videos, then October to February is a good time for you since you get to see a clear, white waterfall.

Things To Do At Chitrakote Falls

Witnessing the sight of these majestic falls is enough to captivate you- however, when you visit the falls, don’t forget to go on a paddleboat ride and swim in the pools formed because of the falls. Local boatsmen will take you below the falls as well. And if you plan to visit the falls early in the morning, wait till noon time to witness a stunning rainbow.
