Experience 10-Day Durga Puja In West Bengal With This Travel Package
Babul Supriyo is the minister of tourism of West Bengal and very recently he announced plans for development in the tourism sector of West Bengal in a programme of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Eastern India. He announced that the government has made 7 panels headed by experts in the hospitality sector. This will help to create a road map for development in the tourism industry. He also said that one of these panels will also focus on the upcoming grand Durga Puja celebration. The panel will focus on different ways in which people from everywhere can enjoy the festival. In fact, Babul said that Durga Puja is ‘no less spectacular and inclusive than the carnival in Rio’.

The minister said in the programme, ‘A 10-day package to explore the Durga puja festival, its different sides, will be made available to the visitors. We are also weighing the option of starting a 15-day Gangasagar package, as part of which tourists can board a cruise from Babughat, touch different ghats, and reach Sagar Islands.’

Babul Supriyo also said that West Bengal is ‘fifth in the country with regard to the flow of domestic tourists and seventh in terms of international tourist footfall’. He further added that the government is committed to improving the ranks and achieving top berths. Meanwhile, someone asked him about the chances of the process of streamlining the license and registration for a businessman opening a new business in West Bengal, he replied the question with, ‘We are taking necessary steps to make the procedure as lucid as possible.’
