K-pop lovers, we’ve got some exciting news! South Korea is planning Fanomenon, a massive new music festival that aims to bring together artists from all four of K-pop’s biggest entertainment companies. Unlike global festivals such as Coachella, Korea doesn’t yet have an annual event that draws fans from around the world to the birthplace of K-pop. That’s set to change with this mega festival, planned for December 2027. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Fanomenon: Korea Plans Massive K-Pop Festival

According to the South China Morning Post, South Korea‘s Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange has announced Fanomenon, a new K-culture mega festival designed to put the country on the global music festival map. The inaugural event is scheduled to take place from December 2 to 12, 2027, across Seoul Arena, which is currently under construction in Seoul’s Dobong district, and Kintex in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The festival is expected to feature concerts by artists from K-pop’s Big Four entertainment companies—SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and HYBE—along with a fandom awards ceremony. A follow-up edition is also planned for Los Angeles in May 2028.

Organisers expect Fanomenon to attract around 520,000 visitors, including 200,000 international fans, and generate over 1 trillion won ( ₹635 crore approx.) for South Korea’s economy. With nearly 19 million foreign tourists visiting the country last year, the festival aims to become South Korea’s answer to global music events like Coachella and Lollapalooza, giving K-pop fans a major annual event to travel for.

Who’s Expected To Perform At K-Pop’s Version Of Coachella?

What makes Fanomenon unique is its ambitious lineup. For the first time, artists from all four of K-pop‘s biggest entertainment companies are expected to perform at the same festival. A joint organisation with representatives from the four labels will oversee the event, while the South Korean government will support immigration, safety and tourism efforts. So, while there is no line-up announced yet, fans can expect to see some of the biggest K-pop artists come together for this music festival.

While K-pop will be the main attraction, organisers also plan to invite international artists, although no names have been announced yet. Beyond concerts, the festival will feature fan meetings, esports tournaments, film screenings, business forums and performances spanning genres such as EDM, rock, hip-hop, jazz, R&B and traditional Korean music.
