Let’s be honest, getting food delivered to our doorsteps has certainly been a boon for people who don’t have time to step out. After all, it is helpful to people who are working from home or they may come back after a long day from work. However, such food delivery facilities and inactive culture have certainly contributed towards obesity rates, and not just in the UAE but even in the GCC. As a result, experts in the UAE are now saying that more than 60% of children who visit the clinic in the UAE are obese.
Obesity In Children In The GCC
According to a report by the Khaleej Times, it was revealed that health experts in the UAE have revealed that 60% of the children who visit their clinic are obese. They have attributed this phenomenon to the fact that there has been an increase in food ordering and a decline in physical activity. As a result, there is an urgent need to address the rising trend of unhealthy eating habits among children. However, this phenomenon is not just affected in the UAE but is also prevalent in other Gulf Cooperation Countries like Kuwait. And what’s worrying is the fact that the number continues to rise.

Inculcating Healthy Habits In Children
As a result, it is advisable that parents should take strict action to monitor the amount of takeouts that their family eats. Since they play an active role in the eating habits of their children, it’s up to them to ensure that they do not order too much food from restaurants. Not to mention, it is also advisable that children be able to develop a preference for healthier alternatives, such as fruits, vegetables, and other natural food items that are available in abundance.
A great way to monitor how much takeout you eat is by monitoring the days on which you order the food. It’s important to provide a well-balanced nutritional diet to your children and ensure they follow strict healthy and eating habits. So, it’s not only important to inculcate them with this discipline but also help them live a healthy life.
