In an exciting new development, shoppers at the supermarket chain, Carrefour will now be able to pay for their groceries using Face Pay. Making use of facial recognition technology, all they have to do is just smile at the facial recognition scanner while checking out. With the introduction of Face Pay, shopping is bound to become an easier and quicker process! So, it might not be surprising if there’s even a reduction in the time spent standing in a queue. For this, you will have to register your face using the Carrefour app or the website to be eligible for this service.

An Easier Payment Process For Your Trolley
In fact, this safe and seamless payment method takes just a few seconds! According to a story by the TimeOut Dubai, Bernado Perloiro, the Chief Operating Officer of GCC at Majid Al Futtaim Retail said that face verification will make checking out easier for customers without them having to reach for their wallets. As it happens, Carrefour is one of the first retailers starting this across the UAE in partnership with PopID and Network International.

The First Retail To Use Face Pay Payment In The UAE
PopID created the technology while Network International is distributing it across the UAE. As such, their partnership with Carrefour is the first retail to incorporate Face Pay payment here. Going forward, the Carrefour Face Pay system may also get linked to earning loyalty points, since PopID has also held trials for this in America and Japan.
