The ‘Ina Mina Dika’ singer, Asha Bhosle, joined our Kamiya Jani, Editor-in-Chief, for this Sunday Brunch episode in Dubai. We were at Asha’s, the singer’s Dubai restaurant to relish desi food from the newly launched menu. We talked about her eight-decade music career, her passion for cooking, some life lessons and more. The legendary icon spoke about how fame is a temporary notion; read on about it.
Asha Bhosle Thinks Fame Is Not Permanent
Before wrapping up the video, Asha Ji gave us an essential life lesson. It is not only for singers or musicians but for people from all walks of life! She recalled a well-known couplet by poet Bashir Badr. The legendary singer sang the line, “Shohrat ki bulandi bhi pal bhar ka tamasha hai, jis daal pe baithe ho vo toot bhi sakti hai,” and informed us this is her exact motto in life.
This preciously highlights how fame is just a temporary facade and can disappear from one’s life in the blink of an eye. She added that the glitz and glam of the industry along with fan-following is also capable of slipping from your hands in an instant. It is better to not ride high on success and remain grounded because if there is a certain kind of blow, you will fall back hard. And it isn’t very glamorous then!
Using Bashir Badr’s couplet, Asha Bhosle gave us a reality check with a euphemism for fame! It was rather a good example to explain and understand the notion of fame and its unpredictability.
