Family Holiday Season Delayed As CBSE Board Exams End On June 15

The central board of secondary examination (CBSE) has released the Board examination Term 2 2022 date sheets for classes 10 and 12. The examination will commence from 26th April for both the classes. It will be continued till June 15 postponing the family holiday season for the masses.

Two Terms And More Gap Between The Two Examinations

In the wake of the pandemic, CBSE has announced two-term board examinations for classes 10 and 12 with a 50 per cent syllabus. While term 1 which was conducted in November- December had MCQs, term 2 will have subjective type questions. On Friday the board declared the dates for term 2 of both classes. Board exams for class 10 will end on May 24 while for class 12 it will end on June 15. Since the schools were closed during the pandemic, the board has given more gaps between two examinations that will help students prepare well.

Family Holiday Seasons Gets Delayed

Though the students will get sufficient time to prepare well for their examinations, these dates of the exams have resulted in delaying the family holiday season. In India, summer vacations and Christmas vacations are the only two seasons of a family holiday because the schools are closed. Generally, before Covid-19 hit, examinations would end by mid-April resulting in families going on vacations between late April to early June.

First Pandemic, Now Exams Are Pushing Holidays Away

Ever since the pandemic hit India in 2020, family holidays were on hold. Now as the Covid-19 restrictions had eased up after 2 years, families had started planning their holidays. But now the plans have to be postponed because of the board examinations of Class 10 and 12.
