A unique collaboration a lot of us didn’t see coming, happened when tech whiz Elon Musk met one of the largest political leaders PM Modi, during the latter’s 3 day visit to the United States. Musk also hinted at what might be the future of Tesla in India.
Elon Musk Meets PM Modi; Hints At Tesla’s Arrival In India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New York on June 20 for his three-day official state visit to the United States. Post his trip, Modi will also visit Egypt for two days.
While in In New York, PM Modi is set to meet over two dozen thought leaders from various walks of life, one of whom was Elon Musk. The meeting with Musk comes after the Twitter controversy in India that was sparked by the former CEO of the site, Jack Dorsey.
The former Twitter CEO had alleged that the Indian government previously threatened to shut down the platform. Business magnate Elon Musk completed his takeover of Twitter in October 2022 and was the acting CEO of Twitter until June 2023.

Musk met the PM on the latter’s first day of the three-day visit and mentioned how he is a “fan” of PM Modi. On being asked about whether he had been invited to visit India, Musk claimed that he had indeed received an invitation from Modi and was planning a trip to India as soon as next year.
Elon Reveals The Future Of Tesla And Starlink In India
During their meeting, Elon also said he was confident about Tesla’s arrival in India and that he was working as fast as “humanely possible” to make it happen. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi for his support and said he hopes to announce some Tesla-related news, soon.
Elon also highlighted the strong potential India carries for a sustainable energy future including solar power and electric vehicles.

Along with Tesla, Musk also revealed his plans for Starlink in India. He said that he plans to bring Starlink, which is a satellite-based broadband Internet service developed by his company SpaceX, to India. He believes it could prove beneficial in rural areas where internet services are either limited or too expensive to avail.
