Vistara To Operate Last Flight On November 11

Vistara has announced that it will operate the last flight under its brand on November 11. This announcement comes in the wake of Vistara’s much-anticipated merger with Air India. As per a Business Standard report, Air India will take over all Vistara aircraft and all reservations thereafter will be transferred to Air India’s website.

The full-service airline took to social media to announce its last flight under that brand name. In the statement, Vistara said, “We are merging with Air India for you to fly #ToLimitlessPossibilities! Vistara flights, starting 03-September-2024, will progressively not be available for bookings for travel after 11-November-2024. 12-November-2024 onwards, you will be required to book with Air India. Stay tuned for further updates.”

The Vistara-Air India merger was first announced in November 2022. There were some roadblocks in the merger that were recently resolved. Now, as per reports, the authorities have given their nod for the foreign direct investment by Singapore Airlines as part of the Air India-Vistara merger. After the merger, Singapore Airlines will have a 25.1% stake in Air India.

While talking about their journey so far, Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer of Vistara, said, “We are immensely grateful to all our customers for their support and patronage over the last 10 years. As we progress further in our growth journey, we want to emphasize that this merger is about offering them more choice with a larger fleet and a wider network, while elevating the overall travel experience.”

He further added, “Vistara and Air India are committed to ensuring that this transition is smooth and hassle-free. We are excited about this new phase in our journey and look forward to welcoming our customers again soon – as Air India.”
