“Farzi Café Mississauga Is No Longer Part Of The Brand,” Zorawar Kalra Announces Dispute Currently In Court

Foodies in Canada, we have some news for you all! The Farzi Café brand has terminated its franchise agreement with Farzi Café Mississauga. Restaurateur and managing director of Massive Restaurants Pvt Ltd, the company that owns the brand, Zorawar Kalra took to Instagram to make the announcement and share that the matter is currently in court.

In an elaborate post, restaurateur Zorawar Kalra shared that as of April 2024, Massive Restaurants Pvt Ltd has terminated the Farzi Café Mississauga franchise agreement. He mentioned that while he and his team were hoping for a quick resolution, things were taking their own time, and the matter has now been moved to the court in Brampton.

As per media reports, the brand opened its first-ever restaurant in Canada at the Food District in Square One, Mississauga, in 2021. The ‘Farzified’ version of Indian food won many hearts in Canada and the restaurant gained a lot of popularity among foodies.

Here’s What We Know So Far

According to Zorawar Kalra’s post, “In terminating contractual relations with Farzi Café Mississauga, Farzi Café India alleges serious breaches of parties’ Franchise Agreement, with many of those breaches coming to light as a result of customer complaints.”

He further shared that legal proceedings against the restaurant’s franchisee in Canada began in June 2024, and the matter is already in court.

Addressing the customer complaints, he added, “While customer complaints continue to be received by Farzi Café India to this day, Farzi Café India wishes to assure the public that it is committed to protecting its brand and the public, and customer complaints will be heeded.”
