5 Fasting Tips During Ramadan

With temperatures rising and summers approaching it gets quiet challenging to fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is expected to begin around the 16 may 2018. (exact date to be announced) Here are some tips while fasting.  

They key to fasting is a well balanced diet. 

1) Keep Yourself Hydrated

Its very important to keep your self hydrated before sunrise. It might get tough due to rising temperature and heat but make sure you to have at least 3 to 4 glasses of water before sunrise which will help you keep hydrated till sunset.

2) Don’t Skip Meals

Make you sure you never miss a meal. Its important to have your suhoor (morning meal before sunrise) as its that meal that will make you be energetic and keep you flowing for the entire day. If you cannot eat heavy then make sure to have a glass of full cream milk with some fruits and dates as that will maintain to keep your diet.

3) Not Recommend To Fast

Women who are pregannent and children under the age of 8 are not advisable to fast. Also class 1 diabetes are not advisable to fast and in case they wish to fast it should be done under a strict supervision.

4) Iftar Meals

Iftar meals are basically the meal which is taken after sunset. People break their fast during this meal. It very much advisable to eat something with high protein and light. A glass of juice or a cup of soup is a best way to break a long day fast, as it energizes your body as overeating during Iftar may harm your body and may result in weight gain and indigestion.

5) Work Out

A lot of people ask if its a good to workout during fasting in Ramadan. Well, it is advisable to workout during ramadan but in a light and not extensively manner. You should probably climb a few stairs or just take a walks if its not too hot. Its great to workout before Iftar and before your bed time. You should also probably do some stretching before you suhoor in order to keep your body active.
