Mumbai woke up to cool winds and a much-needed downpour this morning. The first pre-monsoon rain showers hit several parts of Mumbai today and significantly brought down the mercury. These rains brought respite from heatwave and humidity, and Mumbaikars welcomed this change in weather with open arms.
Pre-Monsoon Showers Bring Respite To Mumbai
Mumbai welcomed its first pre-monsoon rain shower today in several parts of the city and people are rejoicing thanks to this change in weather. Bringing respite from the scorching heat, the rain showers were observed in Dadar, Kandivali, Magathane, Oshiwara, Wadala, and Ghatkopar early in the morning. Rainfall was also reported in certain parts of central and south Mumbai.
As per IMD’s forecast, with a partly cloudy sky, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are likely to be around 36°C and 29°C, respectively. Furthermore, as per Skymet’s forecast, the monsoon is expected to advance over the Konkan region and make a timely onset in Mumbai. The city will experience light to moderate pre-monsoon showers over the next 3-4 days.
