On Friday, a fire broke out at a camp in Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Several fire engines promptly arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames. As per the latest report, the fire was brought under control and there have been no casualties or injuries.
Fire Breaks Out At Camp In Maha Kumbh Mela In Prayagraj
According to Hindustan Times, a fire broke out at a camp near Tulsi Chauraha on Old GT Road in Maha Kumbh Nagar on Friday. The incident took place at Sector 18 and fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. Devotees present at the location saw thick clouds of smoke enveloping the fair area and panic gripped the nearby akhadas. Thankfully NDRF teams and firefighters reached the location quickly and handled the situation.
While talking to Hindustan Times, inspector Yogesh Chaturvedi of Khak Chowk police station confirmed the incident and shared that the firefighters have “managed to bring the blaze largely under control.” Thankfully, there have been no casualties or injuries reported in the entire matter. The reason for the fire is still unknown.
Third Reported Incident Of A Fire At The Mela
As per reports, this is the third incident of a fire at the Maha Kumbh Mela. In January, a massive cylinder blast destroyed tents in Sector 19 of the fairground. No casualties were reported in the incident and officials were able to extinguish the flames quickly. Another fire broke out in Sector 2 of the Maha Kumbh Mela in January. In the incident, two cars caught fire in the early hours of the day. Thankfully, the blaze was contained promptly and there were no casualties.
