In shocking news, Walt Disney World’s Epcot park in Florida was engulfed in flames on Saturday. A fire broke out at 7 pm local time, leading to widespread evacuations and firefighters taking over control to extinguish the flames. Walt Disney’s Epcot Theme Park Engulfed In Massive Fire
As per a report by Fox35 Orlando, a blaze broke out at the park with dark plumes of smoke taking over the sky at the France Pavilion. The Orlando theme park signalled an emergency and visitors were instantly evacuated from the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride. This ride is located adjacent to where the fire started at the Walt Disney theme park.
In no time, the blaze was quickly extinguished and no fatalities or injuries were reported. This incident left many questioning the reason behind the massive blaze. A Disney representative revealed to the Associated Press that the blaze was caused by a walk-in cooler that caught fire. While it’s not known how the cooler began burning, it was placed right behind the France Pavilion in a backstage area. At the resort’s Epcot theme park, the France Pavilion sits as part of the World Showcase.
Guests Instantly Evacuated From France Pavilion
After the fire was extinguished swiftly and safely by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District fire department, the France Pavillion was reopened to theme park guests, Information from Disney World is awaited. In the France Pavilion, the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a 4D dark trackless ride. The most interesting part about the ride is that visitors can literally step into Remy’s shoes. Shrinking guests to rat size, they can explore a chaotic day through Guesteau’s restaurant from the Pixar classic, Ratatouille.
Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando has four major theme parks, one of which is Epcot. Millions of visitors head to the park every year for an adventurous experience spanning 11 national pavilions in its World Showcase.
