Flight Carrying 146 Passengers Experiences Tyre Burst During Landing At Chennai Airport; No Injuries Reported

An Oman Airways aircraft carrying 146 passengers from Muscat suffered a tyre burst while landing at the Chennai International Airport. The incident happened on Saturday and thankfully, no passengers were harmed in the entire ordeal. The airport authorities confirmed the incident. Read on to know more about this incident.

Aircraft’s Tyre Bursts While Landing At Chennai Airport

An Oman Airways flight from Muscat experienced a tyre burst while landing at the Chennai Airport on Saturday. As per an NDTV report, the aircraft’s tyre burst shortly after the plane touched down on the runway. There were 146 passengers onboard during the incident and as per the latest update by the airport authorities, all the passengers are safe and sustained no injuries in this entire ordeal.

For now, the authorities have decided to park the aircraft with the tyre burst at the airport and have cancelled its return flight. All passengers affected by the cancellation have been provided with accommodation in hotels across the city. Currently, the flight details have been kept under wraps and more details on this entire incident are awaited.

Air India Flight Returns To Airport Due To A Technical Issue

In another incident at the Chennai Airport, a Madurai-bound Air India flight was forced to return to the airport due to some technical glitch on Friday. As per a Financial Express report, the aircraft landed safely and without any difficulty at the Chennai International Airport. The airline offered all the passengers on the flight alternative travel arrangements to reach their destinations.

While talking to Financial Express, an Air India official said that the ground staff “made every effort to minimise the inconvenience” caused to the passengers due to this “unexpected disruption.” The aircraft is undergoing precautionary checks and required repairs at the Chennai Airport currently.
