Florist In Bangalore Used Eco-Friendly Wraps For Bouquets

According to an article which was recently published by Bangalore Mirror, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike or BBMP booked around 959 flower shops for using banned plastic to wrap flowers in bouquets on Valentine’s Day.

It generated around ₹2.5 lakh in fines by doing so. The Solid Waste Management Department of the BBMP carried out this operation. However, IBBANI Flowers located in Bellandur sets itself apart from the rest by using eco-friendly wrappers in their bouquet.

Instead of Nonwoven Polypropylene or NWPP which is commonly used in bouquet wrappers, they use sustainable materials. These include cloth ribbons, gift paper, jute wrappers, crepe papers and even bowls made from glass!

Other Ways It Promotes Environmentally Friendly Practices

That’s not all! In addition to using these eco-friendly materials for their bouquet wraps, they also have other initiatives that promote environmentally friendly practices. For instance, they offer a 10 per cent discount to customers who bring their own containers for flowers!

This encourages customers to refrain from creating more waste when purchasing the bouquet! In the article, they said that they have been doing this for the past eight years. They also mentioned that initially, the customers were hesitant to embrace such bouquets.

This was also because they’re slightly more expensive than regular ones. Now, however, they are willing to pay the price because they even look more attractive.
