GCC Updates
1. Dubai RTA Completes Traffic Improvement On Key route
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority revealed that it has completed traffic improvements on E311 AKA Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road. This will cut the travel time to more than half! As such, the capacity of the exit from this road to Al Rebat Street has increased by 50%. Yes, it has risen from 3,000 vehicles to 4,500 vehicles per hour.
2. 5th International Conference on Camels in Arab Culture To Be Hosted In Dec
The Department of Arabic Language and Literature at King Saud University to host the International Conference on Camels in Arab Culture. This will be the fifth edition and will be happening on December 30 and 31, which is in line with the Ministry of Culture’s designation of 2024, as the Year of the Camel. This conference highlights the cultural and civilisational values of camels. This enhances their cultural and literary presence both locally and internationally!
3. Oman Air Is Running A Limited Period Business Class Sale
Oman Air has recently announced that an exclusive Business Class sale across its global network. Yes, according to reports, they’re offering up to 25 per cent discounts on some Business Class seats. In fact, the sale is valid from July 18 to 31, 2024, but the travel dates should be from July 18 to December 15, 2024. Moreover, the offer applies to one-way and return flights to all Oman Air destinations, but this excludes domestic sectors.
4. Flights Between UAE & Manila Operating As Normal
The flights between UAE and Manila are as of now still operating as normal. And flights from Dubai and the Philippines have been operating as normal by Philippine Airlines (PAL). The announcement comes at a time as Typhoon Gaemi and a southwest monsoon is bringing heavy rain on Wednesday to the Philippine capital region.
5. Flynas To Introduce Flights To Bahrain & Doha
It was recently revealed that from September onwards, flynas will introduce direct flights to Bahrain and Doha from Madinah. These flights begin on September 10, and it will be joining the existing route of flynas. The existing destinations on its network from Madinah, include Istanbul, Ankara, Dubai, Amman, and Cairo.
6. Dubai Municipality Announces New Milestone
The Dubai Municipality recently announced that public parks and recreational facilities in the emirate have achieved a new milestone. Yes, they have attracted 16,391,748 visitors just in the first half of this year! In a post on X (formerly Twitter) it was mentioned that it represents a year-on-year increase of 1.3 million visitors!
