Located in the Biswanath Chariali district, Assam’s Pabhoi is where the FolkTea festival will take place. This festival is a 3-day event that will feature a variety of activities and folk performances. The festival will include a tea conclave, traditional Bhaona, which is a form of entertainment performed by local villagers, and a folk dance called Jhumur, which is generally performed by the Adivasi or tea tribe community.
The festival promises a joyous experience with various folk performances and camping in beautiful tea gardens for the people attending the FolkTea festival.
Things That’ll Feature In The Festival
The tea conclave, part of the festival, will serve as a B2B summit for small tea growers, industry stakeholders, and bought leaf factories to engage in discussions with major partners like the Tea Board of India, TRA Tocklai, and AAU Biswanath.
The four planned sessions will be in the local language, which aims to be accessible and impactful. These sessions will focus on topics like climate change, pest management, marketing, quality, and more.
The festival’s second part features a car rally to Arunachal Pradesh, a traditional tea ceremony, and the iconic ‘Akash Banti’ sky lantern event in the evening.

The festival will conclude with a heritage tea walk through the historical tea estate, visiting tea factories, and a showcase of Eastern Himalayan cuisine.
