With the strawberry season gone by, if you too were disappointed with the unpalatable, almost overripe, wilted fruits deviously tucked away in the bottom of the packed box, then you aren’t alone. A viral video has taken over the Internet showing vendors repackaging fungus-infested strawberries with the intention of selling them for consumption. Here’s more to this.
Viral Video Shows Vendors Packaging Fungus-Infested Strawberries
Urvashi Agarwal known for her unadulterated restaurant and street food reviews, shocked the Internet with her latest reel. The Hyderabad-based vlogger posted a video of a group of strawberry vendors being involved in dubious activities that can harshly mar a person’s health. The clip shows a group of men sitting on the ground. In front of them lies a massive pile of rotten, fungus-filled strawberries.
Urvashi explains that rotten, dirty strawberries were wiped clean and were being repackaged and sold. She asked viewers to glance at the faces of the men who were grinning widely as if they thought it was a joke. They were shamelessly playing with public health with no grimace on their faces, said the Instagram influencer. For a little extra money, the men were packing fungus-infested strawberries in plastic boxes and selling them like they were fresh. Not only was it unethical but posed a serious health risk as well.
