If you’re a Salman Khan fan, here’s something that will blow your mind. Imagine walking down a busy street in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and suddenly spotting Dabangg posters on the walls of a restaurant. Yes, you read that right! Gran Dabbang isn’t just a regular restaurant. Bollywood and Argentina collide here, and the vibrant, fiery flavours of Asia and India blend with the fresh, vibrant ingredients of Latin America. And it’s all brought to life by Chef Mariano Ramón, who discovered Indian cuisine and culture while travelling. He was so inspired by the film Dabangg that he decided to name his restaurant after it. Even his wife brought back posters of the movie from India, and those posters are now proudly displayed on the restaurant walls.

The restaurant is small and simple from the outside, tucked away in one of Buenos Aires’ liveliest neighbourhoods. The space is buzzing with people, the air is filled with the aroma of spices, and your eyes immediately fall on Salman Khan’s Dabangg posters smiling down at you. For any Salman fan, it’s a surreal moment, eating in Argentina while being surrounded by Bollywood.

Salman Fans Will Totally Love It

Gran Dabbang has made a name for itself by serving a short but powerful menu of small plates, all designed for sharing. The idea is simple—order a few dishes for the table, and they’ll arrive when ready. No fancy plating, no white tablecloths—just food that’s bursting with taste.

Some of the must-try dishes include Chard Pakora, Smoked Lamb Curry, Rica-rica Marinated Quail, Wood-fired Roti with Spiced Butter, Lentil Makhana with Smoked Butter, Local Fish Surubi with Mango Chutney, and more. While the menu is influenced by Mariano’s experiences in South Asia, except for a few things like coconut milk and tamarind, everything comes straight from Argentina’s markets.

Gran Dabbang has been around for over a decade, and in that time, it’s become a true pioneer of fusion food in Buenos Aires. Locals love it, tourists seek it out, and even top chefs in the city choose to eat here. In fact, the brilliance-meets-warmth vibes of the restaurant have earned it prestigious accolades. In 2023, it was number 26 on The World’s 50 Best Latin America list and jumped to number 18 in 2024. It was also ranked at number 35 on the OAD Top 100 list in South America.

It’s Bollywood energy in the middle of South America, and it makes you feel instantly connected to home. So if you ever find yourself in Argentina, make sure you visit Gran Dabbang. Because here, in this little corner of Palermo, the spirit of Bollywood lives on.
