Dust off the hiking shoes as Jebel Jais reopens to visitors after almost a month. Shut since December last week, the mountain will be accessible to visitors from January 31, 2026. The temporary shutdown was due to heavy rainfall and safety repairs. The UAE’s highest peak is ready for action again, but the comeback comes with new rules.
Jebel Jais Reopening Date Confirmed: Zipline, 1484 by Puro & Key Access Rules
According to a report by Gulf News, authorities closed the mountain earlier after record December rainfall caused water buildup and loose rock in several sections. Teams carried out geological checks and road repairs. Now they have announced a phased restart plan.
What Reopens First And What Stays Closed
The reopening will roll out in stages instead of everything at once. Visitors arriving on January 31 can access two major attractions right away: Jais Flight, the world’s longest zipline, and 1484 by Puro, the highest restaurant in the UAE.
One week later, on February 7, the Jais Sky Tour will resume operations. This multi-zipline course offers shorter connected rides. Visitors who want adventure without the full monster run can visit.
The Red Rock zone still remains off-limits as the maintenance crews carry on with their work.
New Entry Rule For Casual Drive-Ups
You can’t just drive up the mountain casually anymore. Visitors with confirmed bookings for the zipline, sledder, or restaurant can only enter as usual.
Everyone else must buy a Viewing Deck Park ticket for AED 10. That includes hikers, cyclists, photographers, and people who just want to enjoy the weather at the points. The small fee helps control crowd numbers and avoids the unnecessary traffic jam.

Smart Tips Before You Head Up
Mountain weather plays by its own rules. It’s better to pack or wear layers even if the city feels warm. Temperatures at the peak can drop to near 10°C, sometimes even lower with wind. Book early if you want a table at 1484 by Puro. Weekend slots disappear quickly, especially during the winter season. Check the weather forecast on official channels before you start the drive. Conditions can change faster than most people expect.
From a short adventure to quiet coffee above the clouds, Jebel Jais invites you back for your next escape in the UAE.
