In a bid to promote and preserve India’s cultural heritage, Sabhyata Foundation, a not-for-profit company will give a face-lift to four monuments of the nation under the Government’s “Adopt a Heritage 2.0” initiative. Read on to know more about the adopted monuments and what’s in store.
India’s Heritage Monuments Will Get Face-Lift Under Adopt Heritage 2.0
Under the “Adopt a Heritage 2.0” project, the Sabhyata Foundation will develop Purana Qila, Humayun’s Tomb, Mehrauli Archaeological Park and Safdarjung Tomb in Delhi. Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar graced the event in Purana Quila as chief guest. The not-for-profit company plans to enhance visitor experiences at Purana Qila. Visitors can expect a sound and light show, a souvenir shop and a museum that features artefacts from various historical periods. Moreover, with research-backed evidence, historical significance of the site will be presented concisely.
Moreover, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and ASI, the foundation organises year-round site activities. Tourists visiting the iconic monuments can partake in heritage walks and witness enriching interactive displays. Visitors can immerse themselves in fine-dining experiences curated around the theme, ‘Ancient Grains of India’ in strategic locations. Plans for Purana Qila have been revealed. However, plans for the other three monuments in Delhi are awaited.

Fine-Dining Experiences, Sound & Light Shows And More
Yadubir Singh Rawat, Director General, of the Archeological Survey of India, threw more light on the new developments. He cited Red Fort as a “shining example” that proved how technology helped enhance the experiences of visitors at the heritage landmark. However, the ASI has 4000 monuments that require their efforts. For this, the government bodies are anticipating the participation of private organisations to give India’s national cultural treasures the face-lift they require.

As ‘Smaarak Saarthi’, Sabhyata Foundation has taken the responsibility to enhance visitor experiences at Purana Qila, Humayun’s Tomb, Mehrauli Archaeological Park and Safdarjung Tomb. Moreover, the telos of the foundation is to position these heritage sites as must-visit destinations by increasing their footfall, creating memorable experiences and enhancing amenities. They will focus on hygiene, safety, knowledge and accessibility at the sites.
