Indian Master’s Students In France To Get 5-Year Work Visa
In his speech to the Indian community in Paris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an important update for Indian students in France. Now, those Indians pursuing a Masters’s degree in France will be granted a long-term post-study visa for a duration of five years.
This is a notable extension compared to the previous two-year work visa. According to a report by The Economic Times, France provides a wide range of higher education programs.
These programs cater to the requirements of international students, regardless of their proficiency in French. With 14% of them coming from abroad, these programs accommodate a remarkable number of 2.7 million students.
Indian students pursuing Master’s degrees in France have shown a notable presence in recent years. France’s welcoming approach to international students and its diverse range of higher education programs have attracted a significant number of Indian students.

France Set To Grant Extended Visa Time For Indian Students
Following bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, India and France have agreed upon several new initiatives and agreements. As per reports by The Indian Express, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, in the joint statement highlighted a total of 63 outcomes.
The joint statement titled “25th Anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between France and India: towards a Century of Indo-French Relations” outlines the trajectory of the bilateral relationship between France and India until 2047.
This significant year will commemorate 100 years of India’s Independence, 100 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations, and 50 years of the Indo-French strategic partnership as per the Ministry Of External Affairs’ website.
One of which is the decision to grant a 5-year work visa to Indian students studying in a French-speaking country. This move to extend the visa hours is a relief to those students who were desperately looking for job opportunities post their studies.
