The French government has launched a new program that gives Indian students with a Master’s degree or higher the chance to get a five-year short-stay Schengen visa in an effort to improve educational links between France and India. Emmanuel Lenain, the French ambassador to India, discussed the project and stated that their teams are working extra hard to put the choices made by President Macron and Prime Minister Modi in Paris to help students into action. 

France has long been a welcoming and multicultural nation that is willing to provide Indian students access to both its rich cultural history and top-notch educational options.

Eligibility: 

Candidates must have earned a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university in India, France, or another third country and have finished at least one semester of study in France to be eligible. They must also submit a visa application that complies with all applicable Schengen standards.  (As per NDTV World)

Depending on where you live, there may be a difference in the application process for a French short-stay visa. Generally, you must submit your application to one of the following organizations: 

  • The French Embassy in your nation of residency, a French consulate there, or a center for visa applications set up by France.
  • You may also be able to apply for a visa through a different Schengen nation’s embassy or consulate under specific circumstances, as authorized by France. 
  • To get detailed information and advice on the visa application process, necessary documents, and appointment processes, it is imperative to contact the relevant authorities or visit the official website of the French Embassy or Consulate in your country.

Documents:

  • Evidence of enrollment, such as a certificate of enrollment, attesting to your acceptance into a French educational program or institution
  • A letter from your current educational institution stating, if appropriate, that they have no issues with your plans to study in France.
  • An internship agreement explaining the specifics of the internship arrangement, signed by you, your home school, and the French company where you will be interning.
