Bappachi Bambayi! Ganpati Bappa has finally arrived and the entire country is busy with the festivities that come with the blessed presence of Bappa. One of the imperatives of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations is Modak. It is touted to be Bappa’s favourite sweet dish that Goddess Parvati, his doting mother, would feed to him as a child. Swiggy Instamart came up with a creative new way of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi – a free Modak dispenser!

Swiggy Instamart Set Up A Free Modak Dispenser In Mumbai

According to an article which was recently published by Times Now, the free Modak dispenser gave out more than 1,000 free Modaks during the time that it was there. The dispenser was set up at Carter Road in the Bandra region of Mumbai.

The dispenser was serving the delicious Ukadiche Modak. The co-founder of Swiggy and Swiggy Instamart took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared pictures and videos of the dispenser. In the videos that he shared, there was a long line of people patiently waiting for their turn at the dispenser.

Unfortunately though, as all good things come to an end, so did the dispenser. It was only there for two days – Friday, September 6, 2024, and Saturday, September 7, 2024. Their Modak dispenser initiative was wildly successful as a number of people got to enjoy it.

“Ghanti Vajwa, Mithai Milwa,” Free Modaks For Everyone!

And why wouldn’t they? These little pockets of deliciousness were available for absolutely free! The kiosk for the Modaks said “Ghanti Vajwa, Mithai Milwa,” which basically translates to ring the bell and get the sweet. That is all you had to do relish the sweet.

Kishan took to X and shared in another post that they had managed to dole out more than 4,000 sweets! He was appreciative of everyone who had turned up and wished everyone a very happy and blessed Ganesh Chaturthi.
