From Earplugs To Chocolates: Couple’s Sweet Gesture On Baby’s First Flight Wins Hearts Online

Baby's First flight

A touching gesture by an Indian couple on their baby’s first flight has caught attention online. They were flying from Delhi to Bengaluru, and the parents did not want fellow passengers to be disturbed even if their baby cried. As a gesture of goodwill for any disturbance, they prepared small comfort kits of chocolates, earplugs, and a humorous note from their six-month-old baby, Jeremiah.

The couple, who were travelling with their six-month-old son Jeremiah, expected that his wailing would disturb fellow passengers. Hoping to provide a gesture of goodwill, they prepared small comfort packets for passengers sitting nearby. Inside the packets, there were chocolates, earplugs, and a funny note from baby Jeremiah himself.

The note reads:

“Hi, friendly stranger! I am Jeremiah, and today is my first time on a flight! Since I am only 6 months old, I might become a little cranky. My ears may pop, my tummy may be funny, and I may express how I am feeling very loudly and dramatically (I am told that is called crying). As a little apology for any in-flight drama, please enjoy these chocolates and earplugs to make your journey to Bangalore sweeter. Thank you for your patience, and I promise to practise my travel manners on my next trip! With love (and hopefully some wails), Jeremiah.”

The touching post was posted on Reddit by @r/delhi and gained momentum very soon. Several users found the couple’s gesture endearing, while others discussed whether or not extra measures like these should be taken when one is travelling with a baby.

Though appreciated, not all passengers were welcoming. Some just ignored the note, while others shot disapproving glances at the couple. The Reddit user said that a man sitting beside them didn’t even bother to read the note and seemed annoyed from the beginning.

Yet, some passengers, particularly a couple of women who were sitting behind them, appreciated the idea.

At the same time, the IndiGo crew and pilot were impressed. The pilot even came out to greet the family, posed with them for photographs, and handed Jeremiah a special card. A reminder that sometimes it is the little things that count, even in trivial circumstances like on an aeroplane flight.
