Following the airspace shutdown on Monday, 23 June, Dubai’s airports cranked back into gear. Emirates restored its full schedule, including its daily flights to Tehran. That route resumed on Friday, 18 July, after a pause stretching to Thursday, 17 July. Emirates reassured passengers on Wednesday, 16 July, that travellers destined for Tehran can now fly from their point of origin without issue.

Meanwhile, flydubai has reactivated every single route. Flights to Iran’s Bandar Abbas, Mashhad and Tehran resumed on Friday, 4 July, with Lar and Shiraz following on Saturday, 5 July. The airline also restarted St Petersburg flights from Dubai on Wednesday, 2 July. Across Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, all destinations are ticking along, although flydubai says it’ll tweak schedules if the region’s situation demands it.

Abu Dhabi: Zayed International & Etihad

Zayed International warned travellers on Tuesday, 24 June, about delays, urging everyone to check flight status before heading in. Now, everything is flowing normally again. Etihad has returned to its regular timetable.
Air Arabia, which also operates from Abu Dhabi’s airport, revived its routes to Tehran, Shiraz and Lar on Sunday, 6 July, following a Friday, 4 July announcement. Passengers will receive alerts if their flights face delays or cancellations.

However, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is making waves by leaving. The low‑cost airline chose to stop operations in Abu Dhabi entirely. It plans to terminate all flights from that base by Monday, 1 September. On the bright side, it’s bringing back its Tel Aviv service on Friday, 8 August, ahead of its original September restart date.

Sharjah International Back in Action

Sharjah’s home airline, Air Arabia, also shook off last month’s issues. It resumed flights to Tehran, Shiraz and Lar on Sunday, 6 July. The airline also relaunched its twice-daily service between Sharjah and Damascus on Thursday, 10 July. Like Abu Dhabi, it advises travellers to monitor flight statuses via the website and watch out for SMS and email alerts about delays.
